Get Real - People are not Stupid  
The most incredible discovery that you could every make, in regard to religion, and expanding the Kingdom of God, is that first and certainly foremost, "People are NOT Stupid!". People can spot agendas a mile away! Think about it like this. Every had a friend that was an distributor for a product or service, say a "soap" or "makeup" sales person. Everytime they came around, you knew it was for one reason. To sell! What was the first thing that came to your mind? If you would be honest with yourself, you would agree with me that it was "RUN!"People are the same way about church, religion, and christians. For too long, christians have done nothing but hand out tracts, beat people over the head with the Bible, and try to convince them they were going to hell. Never having made any sort of connection with them, not a single relationship formed, nothing! How incredible disconnected from God's plan can you get?Keep a simple formula in mind as we continue. Time equals Relationship equals Influence. This is a truth that was taught to me by Pastor Michael Phillips is that time is the one resource nobody wishes to give up. We want to simply tell people they are going to hell, or hand them a tract. Without spending time to get to know someone, build a relationship with them, and thereby getting influence into their lives, we want to skip the time part and jump straight to influence. Just like any equation, no part of it can be ommited. Until we take the time to get to know people, they will never trust us (because people are not stupid! They can spot an agenda a mile away), and never allow us the honor of speaking into their lives and showing them Jesus. Let me add a disclaimer here, however! We should never try to form a relationship with someone for the sole purpose of getting influence into their life or getting them to church. Our one purpose should be to build relationships because that was what we were made to do. In fact, as you build relationships with people, you will feel much better yourself, because operating in the manner that God intended for you to, is very healthy to your body and spirit!Last Updated ( Thursday, 26 November 2009 23:01 ) |
What does God say about the End Times?
Actually, God says a lot. If you look at today's world, with the fast changing political environment, and the weather changing as it is, there is no way that you can deny that the Lord will be returning sooner than we think! The bible speaks of "storms in diverse places". Just recently, in my part of the world, Alabama, to be straight, we had several days of tornados rampaging across our counties, and then the day after, snow! Come on now, tell me thats not strange! For those of you who are not familiar with our area, snow is rare at best. Tornados, on the other hand are very common and very much a part of our life here. But the two together? Very strange indeed! Has anyone been paying attention to the news? The miliitary issues in the middle east, coupled with the political changeovers, leave a very messed up and hot climate over there. This is all foretold in the scriptures. What a day we are living in to see God's Word being fulfilled.
