Handling Our Emotions - Cris Paulson

Have you ever heard a man preach about “Women and Their Emotions”? Where do emotions stand in our Christian life? Do we follow them, like a Hallmark movie—“What does your HEART say?” Or do we deny them, and act like a robot? Do we freeze feelings and be logical? Have you ever had a man accuse you of “being too emotional”?

But God created His women with Emotions. He also gives a lot of directions in the Bible about how to live with those Emotions, and still glorify Him.

• Don’t be anxious about anything… (Philippians 4:4)
• God has not given us a spirit of fear… (2 Timothy 1:7)
• Do not worry about tomorrow… (Matthew 6:33)
• A hot-tempered man stirs up conflict, but one slow to anger calms strife. (Proverbs 15:18)

So how can we have emotions, but handle them in godly ways? How can our God-given emotions be God-guided too? We will talk about 5 basic emotions- Mad, Sad, Glad, Bad (Shame) and Afraid. Learn to identify and control your emotions in positive ways.
