Are you one of the millions of people that struggle with depression? Or have you received a clinical diagnosis? Even though you are a believer, do you fight to find joy in life? I was trapped in the pit of depression for many years, but God led me out of the darkness. I believe He can do the same for you.
Depression is fueled by lies, like chains that keep us in the dark pit of despair. This workshop will help you discover Truths to break the chains that have kept you down so long. We will expose different lies we believed down in the pit:
Life was not supposed to look like this. What happened to the hopes and dreams I had for my future? How could God let this happen? I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS!
How many times have you asked these same questions, not understanding why things didn’t turn out as you had expected? This workshop explores pain – such as divorce, loss of a child, abortion and abuse - and deals head-on with the emotions and hurts that come with problems. Sometimes the pain that take us by storm is not of our own doing or understanding.
Sure, God is powerful, but is He truly all we need? He is, but I learned that in prison, convicted of murder. We planned to adopt a little boy we met at church, but when he died in our home from a rare, fatal disease, our lives collapsed. My husband and I were accused of murder, and I received a life sentence. Why did He allow this to happen to me when all I ever wanted to do was serve Him? I questioned God's goodness, but as the years passed I saw that God's perfect plan for my life included that prison. I could still serve Him there.
Have the ideas of a performance-driven world seeped into your relationship with God?
Do you try to please God and earn His approval by your performance? Do you consider some days a success and some a failure? Get off the roller coaster of working harder—rest in the finished work of the cross. In Just As You Are, we will explore God's grace - His generous riches, unmerited favor and unconditional love. These gifts don't stop at salvation but empower us for victory in the Christian walk. Whether you feel discouraged and weak from a besetting sin, a weight that hinders you, or weary in waiting on God, His Grace is your answer. We will look to Scripture to understand and apply the role of Grace in:
Have you ever wanted to tell a secret or admit a sin but were afraid no one would accept you if they knew the REAL you? Are you afraid to tell God for fear He won’t love you or want a relationship with you anymore?
Pain, sin, betrayal, and hurt are inevitable in this broken world. But they shouldn't keep us imprisoned. We can’t have intimacy with God and people until we break down the walls around our heart. We want to protect ourselves from pain, but the deep relationships we desire elude us. In this workshop, we will explore how Jesus was willing to be vulnerable and REAL with those around Him, despite their betrayal, lack of trust and contempt. Using the Bible as our foundation we will learn:
Are you living a life full of fear and skepticism?
Are you imprisoned by your fearful thoughts? Are you allowing the difficult situations in your life to control you? When we allow fear to rule us, we make fear more powerful than God. We all have struggled with fear at one time or another: Fear of rejection, misunderstanding, uncertainty, sickness, even death. I invite you to come hear how I have conquered fear through the light of our Lord who brings eternal salvation! In this workshop, I will talk about:
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 Have you ever wondered why your spouse, your parent, your child, or even your friend seems so insensitive? Have you ever felt your efforts of reaching out to another were unappreciated? Do you ever want to walk away from a relationship because communication seems utterly impossible? And, have you ever considered that maybe someone asks these same questions about you?
Personality differences can create barriers, cause division, and produce pain. Understanding the different Personalities and the emotional needs each has is essential if we want to grow to be more like Christ. It is possible to build relationships that flourish, regardless of our personality differences, but even to restore “what the locusts have eaten” in the past. In this workshop, we will look at:
Do you conveniently “pick-and-choose” in your definition of purity? Purity is more than avoiding sin and abstaining from sexual relationships. True Purity begins with understanding your identity in Christ, then knowing God’s purpose for your body. Your body is to be used to do God’s will, to glorify Him. It is also reserved only for the husband God brings to you.
Any sexual touch or gratification before marriage (or outside of marriage) causes mental, physical and spiritual damage. Through this workshop, Sexual Purity will make sense as you discover your true worth and the right use of your body in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I pray that, in our time together, Jesus will not only become your Savior, but the Master over your whole life, including your sexuality. Here are some things to prepare for:
Spiritual Warfare: Healing Your Wounded Soul (Through Prayer and Forgiveness) - Richelle Wright7/30/2016 As the saying goes, “Hurt people hurt people.” Sin, hurts, offenses and trauma create Soul Wounds. They also create strongholds that affect your mind, will and emotions. Holding onto those offenses affects your soul and allows the Enemy to wreak havoc in your life.
You have all spiritual authority to heal your Soul Wounds, but Satan does not want you to walk in that full authority! The Great Physician wants your Wounded Soul healed! The Lord has given me this Soul Healing process and I want to walk you through it:
Have you been toying with the “D” word (divorce)?
Do you fantasize about being married to someone else? Or do you wish you had never said, “I do”?
In this workshop, we will be REAL about struggles in marriage. Throughout 23 years of marriage I've lived through lying, anger, fear, non-confrontation, infidelity and pornography. I've prayed that my husband would die, so I could be free from what felt like a prison sentence instead of wedded bliss. I get it. I've lived there. BUT GOD….. When my husband and I were just a pen stroke away from divorce, God captured both of our hearts. He redeemed a terrible marriage and turned it into a treasure. In this workshop I will teach you:
Over the years God gave me these tools that have helped our marriage to not just survive, but THRIVE! Death…Illness…Betrayal…Loss… What do you do when your greatest fear becomes real? What happens when an unexpected trial become your life?
How does God bring you through it, from Disaster to Deliverance? How does He work together for good in all things…even tragedies? In this workshop, we will discover that Grace is not only God’s unmerited favor, it is power to do things we normally could not do. Be encouraged as you find how Unexpected Grace-encounters can build stability in the storm. Glenda will lead you in:
Have you ever allowed anger to grow in the soil of your heart?
Buried so deeply beneath layers of circumstances that you didn’t know how to dig it out? Has anger spread so far over your heart that you’ve forgotten who you are? In this workshop, we will discover that our identity is not in our anger or in our circumstances; it is in Christ. Satan uses our painful life experiences to destroy us, but God uses those circumstances as a path to deepen a REAL relationship with Him. We will learn:
In the near future, we can be set free from old slavery to bitterness and unforgiveness. Anger seeds that were buried deep will die, and the goodness of God will grow instead. Do you struggle with an addiction or have been told you have an addictive personality?
Have you tried to stop countless times but haven’t found lasting victory? Do you long to find true joy, peace and freedom? Jesus wants His children to be free, satisfied, living abundantly in the purpose they were created for. Yet when we live trapped in strongholds, we don’t fully experience what is rightfully ours. Whether you have struggled with drugs, alcohol, food, gambling, pornography, compulsive shopping, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or any other controlling, destructive habit, this workshop is for you. Freedom is not found in a program, behavior modification or even your own will power—real freedom comes from what Christ has done for us. The Bible says we have God’s power to conquer “sin that so easily entangles us.” In this workshop we will focus on:
Through JESUS you already have the victory. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36) Do you wonder if you are being abused? Do you know someone who is? This workshop offers tools to unmask these bad relationships and escape the traps that have been laid.
Abuse wrecks relationships and people. Fear grows, life shrinks. The heart issue of abuse is a misuse of power. The one being abused is usually blind to how bad the abuse really is. Lies and blame-shifting, guilt and shame are powerful weapons of control. In this workshop, you will learn:
There IS hope, even in cases of abuse. Jesus Christ came to redeem your life out of darkness and free you from the prison cell. Let Him help you. Do you hate change? Or even fear change? But is there an area you know you need to change ASAP? An area that is wrecking your life? And the longer you avoid it, the worse it gets?
I meet with women every week who want to change spiritually: overcome a problem, be more loving or more patient, hear God’s voice and understand the Bible better, or know they are pleasing God in their marriage. Then there are practical changes: lose weight, stop a bad habit, spend less, fight less, pray more. Finally, there are people they want to change, right now, if possible! This workshop walks through the 3-step Change Process in the Bible (Eph. 4:22-32). I can draw a wealth of practical, do-able tips and tools from 30 years of counseling and mentoring women. Let me save you some time in your process of change…and make it less scary for you! In this workshop we will cover:
